Jason, Okay, updated my cygwin, but now what? I did a crontab -e and added this line: * * * * * /usr/bin/date >> /home/myuser/blah.txt saved and quit and nothing is happening. I've looked at the user manual and faq for cygwin and also searched google and I can't find adamn thing about it. What am I missing? BTW, does cygwin itself run as some background application (service) in NT? Thanx. You need to install cron as a service. This is explained in the cron readme. ----- Original Message ----- From: <roypgsqlcygwin@xemaps.com> To: <pgsql-cygwin@postgresql.org> Sent: Friday, September 21, 2001 10:48 AM Subject: [CYGWIN] > Jason, > > Okay, updated my cygwin, but now what? Forgot to read the README at /usr/doc/cygwin/cron.README Did you forget to read the README again? $ fgrep cygrunsrv /usr/doc/cygwin/cron.README cygrunsrv. Install as service like that: cygrunsrv -I cron -p /usr/sbin/cron -a -D Or, did you just forgot to start the service? $ net start cron Jason
