I have successfully built a number of versions of postgresql on IBM Power 6/7 servers running AIX 6.1+, using IBM XLC, and it runs quite nicely. as far as I know, there are no pre-built binaries that document you posted is specific for EnterpriseDB's proprietary version of PostgreSQL Advanced Server, which has added Oracle emulation. -- john r pierce 37N 122W somewhere on the middle of the left coast

You can see what platforms are constantly being tested in the buildfarm site: http://buildfarm.postgresql.org/cgi-bin/show_status.pl If you have interest in having a platform tested, you can set up a buildfarm running the platform of interest. This is particularly a good idea for operating system providers. Given your email address let me add that I think Suse would do good to set up buildfarm members for the supported Suse Linux versions on hardware platforms they each support. -- Álvaro Herrera http://www.2ndQuadrant.com/ PostgreSQL Development, 24x7 Support, Training & Services
