Hello

I've read on the postgresql weekly news the  RPMS for 8.1.5 has a serious bug

is it safe to go back to 8.1.4 ?
or can we safely wait for the fix ?

If they are already working for you, it is likely you are fine. There is
nothing wrong with the binaries, just the package that wraps it.

If it is a fresh install, then it will probably not work for you. It
sets a wrong homedir for postgres user. However, if this is an upgrade,
then there will be no problem AFAICS. The reason I made that
announcement is I am no longer sure that 8.1.5 binaries are production
quality. It does not contain security, etc. issues. If you already have
no problems using it, then go on.

I committed a fix for that; however after that I got another report
which stopped me releasing a new set. We will test RPMs in the next two
days, and release the new sets when we feel they are ready.

Sorry for the trouble; it is my mistake.

it's an upgrade from 8.1.4, and no errors have shown so far
