Обсуждение: 9.0 driver status
Hi, Will you release a separate driver for 9.0, or does 08.04.2000 work against 9.0, too? Hi, since I'm a PG newbie I can't answer your question. But what I can say is : I evaluated PG 9 RC which comes with ODBC 04.04.02 some weeks ago. This version did not not work (at least on my installation). Downloading ODBC driver 8.4.0202 at http://www.ne.jp/asahi/inocchichichi/entrance/psqlodbc/ (psqlodbc30a.zip 8.4.0202) as recommended by Hiroshi Inoue solved my problem. I haven't used PostgreSQL ODBC driver for some time, but the driver is not specific to a particular version of PostgreSQL. The driver version simply follows PostgreSQL versioning, so next release should be 9.0 not because it is specific to that version of Postgres, but by convention. ODBC versioning tells you approximate timeline of its release vs. server's release. Otherwise it is an "independent project". - Adam

I got at least 2 reports that 8.4 driver does not work against 9.0 (Yes, all 9.0 drivers suffer from compabilility) -- Devrim GÜNDÜZ PostgreSQL Danışmanı/Consultant, Red Hat Certified Engineer PostgreSQL RPM Repository: http://yum.pgrpms.org Community: devrim~PostgreSQL.org, devrim.gunduz~linux.org.tr http://www.gunduz.org Twitter: http://twitter.com/devrimgunduz
