Обсуждение: Installing ODBC
Greetings –
I am trying to get the ODBC driver configured and set up on a Windows 2008r2 Enterprise (64bit) server. The 32-bit msi (psqlodbc_09_03_0210) installs without error, and the upgrade.exe completes as well. When trying to set up the User DSN though, I am getting the following error messages:
1.
2.
During the installation of the 64-bit driver (psqlodbc_09_03_0210-x64), I get the following message:
1.
Please let me know what I can try to do to get this set up correctly.
I appreciate your assistance.
Thanks,
Scott Urban

Take a look at the FAQ below, 32/64 bit on Windows is a bit weird: http://psqlodbc.projects.pgfoundry.org/faq.html#6.8 > > I appreciate your assistance. > > Thanks, > > *Scott Urban* > -- Adrian Klaver adrian.klaver@aklaver.com

It needs to be installed wherever you have a client that needs to use ODBC. So if you are not using ODBC clients on the Postgres server machine it does not need to be there. > > > Or do you know if there are any pre-reqs? > Thanks for taking the time to respond and help out. It should not. What I would do to simplify life is uninstall both versions. Then pick one version and install and set it up. Since you are running 64bit Windows I would go with that version since you can configure using the default programs. > > Scott Urban > _______________________ > Hale Solutions, Inc. > www.halesi.com > 800.892.5722 x115 (office) > 708.903.9212 (mobile) > 866.812.9704 (fax) > -- Adrian Klaver adrian.klaver@aklaver.com

FYI, it was related to the version of the ODBC driver being installed. None of the 9_03 works correctly, but 9_02 did. We tracked down this link that helped out: http://postgresql.1045698.n5.nabble.com/BUG-9110-Fresh-install-of-psqlodbc-0 9-03-0100-x64-zip-fails-td5790676.html Thanks again for your help.
