The new design makes the documentation hard to navigate. The subheadings use a light grey color and about the same font size as the regular text, so they are actually less visible than the regular text. If, say, the default is bumped, it'd be nice to have a "smaller" option as well so those of us that like the smaller size can read I do like the gray, but agree it could be darker. It works for me, but I must say that the "Large" setting looks much better to me. Looking at the css, I see that "large" is still forcing to a smaller size, 93%, which seems strange to me.
