select jsonb_set('[{"f1":1,"f2":null},2,null,3]', '{0}','[2,3,4]',
got:
[2, null, 3]
but in 9.6.5, got:
[[2, 3, 4], 2, null, 3]

This is not a complete query, there is no way to guess what is going wrong.

9.6.5 has not been released yet, 9.6.X series are currently at 9.6.0.
