On the PostgreSQL 12 page of the auth-methods -
https://www.postgresql.org/docs/12/auth-methods.html , it doesn't list a
index of pages to the different auth methods.

I assume this is unintentional since even the development version of the
docs offers links and brief title for each method.

Thank you for report. This is already fixed in stable branch in [1]. Documentation update will be published on the site
nextweek along with release 12.2.
